Lou Sabino, Director of Admission
Lou was named director of admission in August 2012. For the past three years, Lou served as the assistant director of admission at San Francisco University High School in San Francisco, CA. He was also the assistant director of admission at Woodberry Forest School in Woodberry, VA and Blue Ridge School in Charlottesville, VA. Lou holds an M.B.A from the University of Oregon and B.A from the University of Virginia.

Emily R. Chrysler, Assistant Director of Admission
Emily began her Whitfield career as an eighth grade social studies teacher in the fall of 1996. Since then, she has taught eighth and twelfth grade social studies and seventh and ninth grade English over her 12 years in the classroom. She has also served as social studies department chair and grade level leader. In 2002, Emily was named the Richard B. Kobush Humanities Chair and also was recognized as the George A. Newton Outstanding Teacher in 2010. She moved to the admission office in 2008 and in 2010 became the Director of Camp Whitfield. Emily earned a master's degree in history and a bachelor's degree in history and education from Washington University. She is also the proud parent of a current Whitfield student.

Robert Butler, Admission Associate, English teacher
Rob came to the Whitfield family in 2010 as a middle school English teacher and coach, and joined the admission team in 2011. Prior to Whitfield, he spent 10 years at Holland Hall, an independent school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he taught English, coached and worked part time in admissions. Rob earned a Master’s degree in English from Oklahoma State University, with an emphasis in teaching English as a second language and applied linguistics. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English and secondary education from Northeastern State University.

Debbie J. Thaxton, Administrative Assistant, Admission and College Counseling Offices
Debbie joined the admission and college offices in 2005 after more than 25 years in industries ranging from food manufacturing and retail to packaging and chemicals. A recognized expert in databases, she has been key to the School's transition to the online submission of student records to colleges and the School's migration to a new student database. Her strength as a team player is key to her dual role as administrative assistant to both the admission and college offices.
