Alumni Veterans: Day 1

In honor of Veterans Day, we are highlighting our alumni who attend military academies or have served/continue to serve.

Chris Walker '97 graduated from Auburn University (2003), began working at Spirit of St. Louis Airport, and was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force in February 2005 through Officer Training School. He is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force working at Headquarters Air Combat Command at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia as a Combat Rescue Helicopter Pilot. He has been married to his wife, Paige, for 15 years, and they have a son, Elliot, who is in first grade.

Will Walker '97 attended the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (2001), earned a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and completed his Phase 1 Joint Professional Military Education through the U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College. Will has spent the last 19 years in active duty service as a Coast Guard Officer. He holds FAA Airline Transport Pilot Rotorcraft-Helicopter, Flight Instructor, and Commercial Airplane pilot certificates. Will is currently on detail to The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. His wife, Amanda, is an RN. They have a son, Rhett (11), in the 6th grade who loves to swim competitively.

Alexi Ressler '99 attended the University of Vermont, earning her BA in 2003, MEd in 2005, and MS in 2009. She was in the U.S. Army Reserves for seven years and is currently on active duty assisting with the COVID-19 response mission as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Alexis and her husband recently relocated to Asheville, NC after spending 20 fabulous years in Vermont. Her picture is from the Armed Forces National Triathlon Championship 2015. Based on the results of this race, she participated in the Military World Games in South Korea 2015. The MWG is a multisport event that happens every four years, the year before every Olympics. The event promotes peace by uniting service members from nations around the globe through sports.
