Experiential education for grades 6-12 in St. Louis

7th Grade Global Citizenship Exhibition

7th Grade Global Citizenship Exhibition

Seventh grade students welcomed families and faculty to Schmitter Gallery on Friday, May 15, for the opening of their Global Citizenship Exhibition.

Designed as an open house-style event, the exhibition highlighted a year of interdisciplinary study in social studies and English. Over the past month, students researched current global issues affecting communities around the world, developing projects that combined analysis, creativity, and advocacy.

Throughout the gallery, students shared their work with visitors, offering both insight into the issues they explored and perspective on the role they can play in creating change. The event reflected Whitfield’s commitment to experiential, inquiry-driven learning, with students taking ownership of their ideas and communicating them with purpose.

The exhibition served as both a culmination of their studies and an opportunity for students to engage others in meaningful conversations about global citizenship in action.
