Capstone in Action: Seniors Present Year-Long Research

On Wednesday, May 20, Whitfield seniors presented their final Capstone projects, marking the culmination of a year-long, inquiry-based experience. Designed as a required course, Capstone challenges students to pursue questions of personal significance, extending their learning beyond the classroom through research, interviews, site visits, and real-world engagement.

Throughout the evening, classrooms across campus became presentation spaces as students shared work that reflected both intellectual depth and personal investment. Topics ranged widely—from mental health, artificial intelligence, and healthcare access to entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, and the creative process—demonstrating the breadth of student curiosity and the independence with which they pursued it.

More than a final project, Capstone represents a defining Whitfield experience. It asks students not only what they can learn, but how they think, create, and contribute. The exhibition offered a clear answer: our seniors leave Whitfield as thoughtful researchers, confident communicators, and emerging problem-solvers, ready to take their next steps with purpose.
