Whitfield Announces 2025–2026 Glassman Leaders

The Whitfield School is proud to announce that Abby Brown '27 and Haydan Brown '27 have been selected as the Glassman Leaders for the 2025–2026 academic year. These two outstanding students exemplify the leadership, initiative, and commitment to community that define the Glassman Leadership Program.

Established by alumnus Robert Glassman '02, the Glassman Leaders Program is now in its fifth year and continues to provide emerging Upper School leaders with invaluable training in public speaking and leadership development. Each year, two students are selected to participate in a Dale Carnegie leadership and presentations course, followed by ongoing coaching from Whitfield faculty and staff.

Abby Brown '27 has taken on leadership roles across a variety of activities, including Model UN, Scouts BSA, Women’s Alliance, the Leadership Development Series, and both the field hockey and lacrosse teams. She recently represented Whitfield at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Student Diversity Leadership Conference, where she challenged herself to grow as a speaker and advocate.

Haydan Brown '27 also brings an impressive record of engagement and leadership. She is active in the Black Student Union, cheer & dance team, volleyball, and serves as a Real Talk Facilitator. In addition to her school involvement, she volunteers as a Sunday school teacher and counselor for New City School’s summer programs. She has also completed academic enrichment through the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) Bridge Program, underscoring her commitment to academic and personal growth.

Through the Glassman Program, Abby and Haydan will build on their already impressive experiences, developing further confidence and communication skills that will serve them both at Whitfield and beyond.

Congratulations to Abby and Haydan on this well-deserved recognition. The Whitfield community looks forward to seeing their continued impact as student leaders.
