Whitfield Welcomes Michael W. Woodson II as Head Boys Soccer Coach

The Whitfield School is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael W. Woodson II as Head Boys Soccer Coach.

Coach Woodson brings more than 15 years of coaching experience and more than 25 years of leadership experience to Whitfield. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for developing players, mentoring coaches, and fostering positive team cultures centered on accountability, discipline, and character. Before joining Whitfield, he served in leadership roles with St. Louis Stars SC, Missouri Rush Soccer Club, and Saint Louis Scott Gallagher, where he helped shape player development pathways and coach education programs. He also served nine years in the United States Air Force before beginning his coaching career.

A US Soccer C Licensed coach, Coach Woodson believes athletics provide an opportunity to develop not only skilled competitors but also confident leaders and young men of character. His coaching philosophy emphasizes high standards, teamwork, and creating an environment where every player can grow on and off the field.

Whitfield families and players are invited to meet Coach Woodson on Wednesday, July 8, at 5:30 PM in Schmitter Gallery. The meet-and-greet will be followed by a summer practice from 6:00–8:00 PM.
