Track & Field Teams Bring Home the State Hardware

Whitfield's varsity track & field athletes brought home an impressive amount of hardware from the MSHSAA Class 2 state meet on May 19-20, 2022 in Jefferson City, MO. The boys team finished in second place, the first time in school history. James Milgie '22 won the 400m championship and two boys relay teams earned state championships, also a program first:

• 4x400m (CJ Bobo '22, Jacob Hutchison '22, James Milgie '22, Musa Butler '23)
• 4x800m CJ Bobo '22, Jacob Hutchison '22, Jackson Brungart 23, James Milgie '22)

Additional highlights include:

Girls

• Keyao Song '22 placed in a 3-way tie for 7th place in the high jump
• Hadley Wilkins '22 placed 6th in the 800m (her time of 2:26.93 is also a new Whitfield girls 800m record!)

Boys

• James Milgie '22 placed 8th in the 800m
• Jackson Courtney '23 placed 7th in the pole vault
• Jackson Brungart '23 placed 7th in the 3200m
• Jacob Hutchison '22 placed 4th in the 800m
• CJ Bobo '22 placed 2nd in the 400m
