Digital Self-Portraits
In conjunction with their study of three-dimensional representation, sophomores in Intro to Drawing recently created multi-faceted self-portraits. This project explored contour and cross-contour lines and addressed planar shifts within the digital landscape. Students used Photoshop to create faceted self-portraits, breaking their photo into planes to address dimensionality. “This is an important technique that I would have shown them if we were in our on-campus class,” said faculty member Jim Daniels. “Now it’s about how we can be creative using the computer to do these projects together even though we are physically miles apart.”
