Dr. Haynes Honored at Salute to Excellence in Education Gala

Dr. Brandon Haynes was selected by the St. Louis American Foundation as an honoree at the Salute to Excellence in Education Scholarship & Awards Gala on November 4, 2023. Now in its 36th year, this event draws over 800 attendees in support and recognition of its eight annual honorees. The Salute recognizes outstanding local Black educators and provides needed resources for high-achieving students of color to pursue their higher education goals. This year's Salute awarded $2.8 million in scholarships to over 30 students from leading local and regional colleges and universities. Since its' inception, the Salute has awarded over $15 million in scholarships to high-achieving students. Whitfield School was proud to be a Cum Laude sponsor of the evening, with many of Brandon's family and colleagues in attendance. Congratulation to Dr. Haynes on this incredible achievement!
