Rick Gamp Named Head Girls Varsity Soccer Coach
The Whitfield School is excited to announce Rick Gamp, a faculty member in the World Languages Department, as the new Head Coach for the Girls Varsity Soccer Team.
Coach Gamp has been part of the Whitfield community since August 2017, bringing with him a wealth of soccer coaching experience. Over the past five seasons, he served as assistant coach to Jeff Cacciatore, a St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame member. During this time, the team achieved incredible milestones, including a Missouri Class 1 State Championship in 2022 and third-place finishes in Class 2 in 2023 and 2024. Additionally, Coach Gamp has led Whitfield’s Middle School girls’ team for two seasons and the boys’ team for five seasons.
Joining Coach Gamp on the sidelines this year will be Coach Matt May, Whitfield’s Head Boys Varsity Soccer Coach, who will now also serve as the Varsity Girls Assistant Coach.
"Coach Matt May and I can't wait to get the season started,” Gamp shared. “We’ve got a great group of girls, and we’ll do our best to try to continue the success of the last three seasons and carry on the legacy of the great Jeff Cacciatore.”
We are excited to see the Girls Varsity Soccer program continue to thrive under Coach Gamp’s leadership. Go Warriors!
