Student Activities Fair
On Friday, September 27, students from all grade levels explored the wide array of clubs and affinity groups at the annual Student Activities Fair. The event, designed to showcase the school's diverse extracurricular offerings, provided students the opportunity to learn more about clubs, meet leaders, and discover ways to get involved in the Whitfield community.
The fair, organized by grade levels, allowed students to explore different booths and talk with club leaders. Juniors and seniors kicked off the event at 9:55 a.m., followed by 9th and 10th graders, and concluding with middle school students at 10:30 a.m. Students were encouraged to take the opportunity to learn about at least two clubs, reflect on their interests, and keep an open mind about joining new activities. Organizers emphasized that signing up at a booth simply indicated interest, not a commitment.
Faculty and staff helped students circulate around the fair, ensuring everyone got a chance to see all the offerings rather than sticking to familiar faces or collecting candy from the booths. For younger students, teachers stressed the importance of engaging with club leaders and learning about the various goals and missions of each group.
From academic and interest-based clubs to affinity groups such as the Black Student Union and Women’s Alliance, the fair represented the vibrant and inclusive student life that Whitfield is known for. The event aimed to encourage students to step outside their comfort zones and explore new ways to grow within the Whitfield community.
