Please request that records from your child’s current school be sent to Whitfield by emailing the request to the appropriate person via SAO. We request records from the current academic year and the previous two years; reports will include transcripts/report cards, standardized testing, attendance and discipline.
If a school is unable to submit records or recommendations through the SAO, please use the School Record and Transcript Release Form or Teacher Recommendation Form. Complete the top portion and deliver these forms to your child’s school, along with an envelope addressed to Emily Chrysler, Director of Admission, Whitfield School, 175 South Mason Road, Saint Louis, MO 63141.
The SSAT exam is offered in St. Louis several times each year (SSAT). Please register for the most convenient test date and site for your family and release the results to Whitfield. Whenever possible, applicants for Fall 2020 should take the SSAT by January 4, 2020 (this is especially important for applicants to Grade 9).
Whitfield’s SSAT code is 8196.
Students' test results are one piece of the entire application. The essay is particularly informative as it provides a sample of independent work and a glimpse into your student. While the SSAT has value as a standardized component to the application process, just as important to us are a student's day-to-day work in the classroom, teacher and personal recommendations, the family interview and tour, and report cards. We are happy to talk with you about testing and all other portions of the admission process when you visit for your family interview and tour.
If your family has not already registered for, or attended an Admission Visit Day, we strongly suggest you do so prior to the Family Interview.
The Family Interview, which will include you and your student, will take approximately 45 minutes. Both you and your student will have a chance to talk with one of our admission associates individually.
Our goal during this Interview is to get to know both you and your student. With dynamic classrooms that rely heavily on interpersonal relationships, we are looking for students whom we believe will thrive in our school environment.
At least five days prior to your interview, please submit the Student Profile, Parent Statement and Student Essays portions of the application.
Interviews for Fall 2020 admission began on October 16, 2019. Please schedule your interview by clicking here or contact Michelle Templeton at (314) 415-1259 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
"Since joining the Whitfield team in 2018, I've been very impressed by this diverse learning community. Teachers are creative, dedicated and passionate, and students are deeply engaged in academics as well as a variety of extracurricular activities. Coming from over 50 zip codes and representing many cultural, social and economic groups, we create a balanced, kind community dedicated to high academic expectations while maintaining a low stress environment."
