Please request that records from your child’s current school be sent to Whitfield by emailing the request to the appropriate person via SAO.  We request records from the current academic year and the previous two years; reports will include transcripts/report cards, standardized testing, attendance and discipline.

If a school is unable to submit records through the SAO, please request a transcript in writing from the registrar at your child’s school to be sent to Amber Odom, admission associate, The Whitfield School, 175 South Mason Road, Saint Louis, MO 63141.

We are looking for someone who knows your child well outside of the school environment to share with us about your child’s strengths. Applicants often request personal references from coaches, music teachers, family friends or leaders of religious institutions. Applicants are welcome to use the personal recommendation form provided through the SAO, or ask the reference to submit a letter by email to admissions@whitfieldschool.org or by mail to Amber Odom, admission associate, The Whitfield School, 175 South Mason Road, Saint Louis, MO 63141.

Within the SAO, families will be prompted to fill in questions regarding previous disciplinary actions and extended absences. If answering yes to either question, a parent can provide context and details in this school-specific form. 

Whitfield accepts both the SSAT and ISEE exams. Students can take either test at a testing center, or at home. Please register for the most convenient test type, date, and site for your family and release the results to Whitfield. Please note that results can take up to two weeks, so we strongly encourage you to register to take the exam three weeks prior to your student's respective application deadline.

Students' test results are one piece of the entire application. The essay is particularly informative as it provides a sample of independent work and a glimpse into your student. While these exams have value as a standardized component to the application process, just as important to us are a student's day-to-day work in the classroom, teacher and personal recommendations, the family interview, and report cards. Together all components of the application provide a complete picture of each applicant.

The Family Interview, which will include parent(s) and the student, will take approximately 45-60 minutes. Both parent(s) and the student will have a chance to talk with one of our admission associates individually. Interviews will be conducted in-person with the goal of getting to know your family and sharing more about Whitfield with you. With dynamic classrooms that rely heavily on interpersonal relationships, we are looking for students who we believe will thrive in our school environment.

If your family will be applying for financial aid, your aid application is due at the same time as your application for admission. All financial aid applications are reviewed by a Financial Aid Committee. The process for Financial Aid is competitive as funds are limited. Should your family qualify for need-based financial aid, your award will be included with your admission decision, allowing your family to make an informed decision about enrollment.
