Varsity Athlete of the Week

The Varsity Athlete of the Week for April 12, 2021 is Jimmy Milgie '22. In the Old Settlement Invitational at Ste. Genevieve High School on April 9th, Jimmy won first place in the 400m open race with a time of 50.30 seconds. His winning time is currently the fastest 400m in Missouri Class 3 and the 3rd fastest 400m time recorded in the entire state so far this season!

The Varsity Athlete of the Week for March 2, 2021 is PJ Schulte ’21, a senior on the wrestling team. After losing in the first round of the sectional tournament, PJ defied the odds and advanced to the state wrestling tournament with three straight wins in the consolation bracket. PJ earned 3rd place in the 160lb weight bracket. In his consolation semifinal and final matches, PJ rallied from behind to defeat opponents that had previously defeated him this season. PJ is now a 2x state qualifier. "His extra effort on Saturday was a textbook example of what a person can accomplish when they need it badly enough," shares Coach Sherertz.

The Varsity Athlete of the Week for February 9, 2021 is Brooklyn Rhodes '23, a member of the girls basketball team. Brooklyn is averaging a double-double (13 points and 10 rebounds) per game. Her outstanding play helped the Warriors secure the Queen of Hearts Tournament championship. Brooklyn was also an All-Tournament First Team selection. She was instrumental in the team's big win over Westminster, one of the top teams in the state in Class 4 and a top 5 team in the St. Louis area. Brooklyn continues to demonstrate leadership and growth and her performance last week is another shining example of her hard work and dedication.

The Varsity Athlete of the Week for February 2, 2021 is Nicole Alper-Esko '22. As a dedicated member of our dance team, Nicole's work ethic in practice has enabled her to grow as a performer. Last week, Nicole and the Warriors dance team took first place in the Ft. Zumwalt North virtual dance team competition.

The Varsity Athlete of the Week for January 26, 2021 is Kobe Raeman '21. Kobe was one of eight Warrior wrestlers to win individual titles at the Pacific Invitational on Saturday. Although Kobe was a 2020 Class 1 District 1 champion, this win at Pacific is Kobe's first regular-season individual championship of his career. Congratulations Kobe!
