Varsity Athlete of the Week

The Varsity Athlete of the Week for January 20, 2021 is Nolan Simon, a sophomore on the varsity basketball team, Nolan is a dominant force on both sides of the floor. Defensively, his ability to apply ball pressure and anticipate passes from his off-ball defensive position creates havoc on the defensive end. Offensively, Nolan is averaging the most points per game for the varsity team this season. Last week in three games of the highly competitive Rotating 8 Tournament, Nolan averaged 17.6 points per game and was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

The Varsity Athlete of the Week for December 8, 2020 is Gavin Linsman '24. In this past weekend's Fox High Wrestling 48th Annual “Ron Sauer” Varsity Dual Tournament Gavin had an outstanding day of wrestling. While competing at the 132 and 138 weight classes, Gavin went 5-0 and defeated two state qualifiers along the way.

The Varsity Athlete of the Week for December 3, 2020 is Kelsey Blakemore '21, a member of the girls basketball team. During the Warriors first three games of the season, Kelsey has averaged 16 pts, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals. She continues to be a leader on and off the floor as she comes into her senior season and her third year as captain. Kelsey also enters the season as one of the areas Top Players To Watch from STL Today High School Sports.

The Varsity Athlete of the Week for November 10, 2020, is Jimmy Milgie '22, a member of the boys soccer team. Jimmy continues to achieve success as a result of his relentless work ethic and quality actions. His thoughtfulness helped create the first goal in the Warriors' district championship win and being in the right place at the right time enabled him to earn credit for the game-winning goal. He is one of our main attacking threats as he currently has 14 goals and 6 assists this season.

The Varsity Athletes of the Week for November 4, 2020 are cross country runners Zachary Gore '21 and Jackson Brungart '23. Zachary and Jackson each earned a trip to the Class 4 MSHSAA state meet by finishing 9th and 10th respectively in the Class 4 District 3 meet.
