In 2001, the Warriors won the Class 2 girls state track & field championship with just six student-athletes on the team. At that state meet, Phabienne won two individual state championships: the long jump and triple jump. Her triple jump of 37 feet 9 3/4 inches is still a Whitfield School record. In addition to his contributions with the girls soccer program, Jeff is a longtime assistant coach in our boys soccer program. Coaching alongside fellow Whitfield Athletic Hall of Famer Bill Daues, Jeff was on the staff of the Warriors state championship boys soccer teams in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010. Lauderdale Strikers and reached the North American Soccer League (NASL) championship match in 1980. Jeff returned to St. Louis and played the next six seasons with the St. Louis Steamers. During his Steamers' career, the team advanced twice to the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) championship match and Cacciatore was named team MVP for the 1982-83 season.
Jared Johnson ’94, athlete
Jared had an outstanding career for the Warriors and excelled in both basketball and baseball. He holds multiple Whitfield basketball career records including three-pointer FG made (227), steals (357), and assists (724). His 1,684 career points is 4th in basketball program history. He holds multiple Whitfield basketball single season records including three-point FG made (86), single season assists (251) and steals (110).
On the baseball field, Jared was a member of the 1994 state championship baseball team—the first-ever state title in Whitfield’s history. And when his teammate and fellow Whitfield Hall of Famer Robert Rahm was walked on four straight pitches, Jared came home with the winning run. An All-State baseball selection and St. Louis Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete, Jared continued his academic and athletic career at DePauw University where he played baseball and earned his B.A. degree.
Annette Parker ’01, athlete
During her Whitfield career, Annette excelled in track and field, cross country, field hockey and basketball.
Annette and her sister Phabienne, who was our first inductee tonight, were known as the legendary “Parker Twins.” Together, they established a tradition for excellence in the early years of Whitfield’s track & field program. In 2001 when the Warriors won the Class 2 girls state track & field championship with just six student-athletes, it was the outstanding performances of Annette and Phabienne that made the difference. At that state meet, Annette was the 400M individual state champion with a time of 57.28 which is still a Whitfield record. She was a member of the 4x400M and 4x200M relay teams that both placed second earning critical points for the Warriors.

Annette continued her academic and athletic careers at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where she was a member of the Track & Field team and ran the 400M, 800M and 4x400 Relay. Brian holds a B.S. in Education and Physical Education from Lincoln University, a Masters in Education in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.
1994 State Championship Baseball Team
Before the Warriors brought home Whitfield’s first-ever state championship trophy, the team put together one of the most exciting seasons in school history. Playing a schedule comprised of predominately 2A and 3A teams, the Warriors entered the Class 1A District 5 tournament with a reputation of an offensive juggernaut. They were batting a collective .389 as a team and had scored over 200 runs in just 19 games. Several individuals on the team were tops in the area in RBIs, batting average and stolen bases.
After winning the district championship, also a school first for the baseball program, the Warriors advanced through the state tournament and carried a 20-5-1 record into the state championship game against Billings.
After a back-in-forth extra-inning game, Whitfield trailed 6-5 going into the bottom of the ninth. Kris Weaver started the come-back with a one-out single, stole second and then advanced to third on a throwing error by the Billings catcher. With Jared Johnson at the plate, the pitcher threw a wild pitch and Kris came in with the game-tying run.
After reaching on a single, Jared stole second and third creating an overwhelming distraction for the pitcher. He intentionally walked Ryan Hetzer and followed with another walk to Jesse Axtell. With the bases loaded, freshman Robert Rahm calmly took four straight balls to score Jared from third with the winning run.
