Coaches
Coach Martin has been around St. Louis basketball since the 1960s beginning as a player at Normandy High School. Following his successful high school career, Coach Martin played at the collegiate-level and then returned to Normandy and served as the basketball coach for one season before leaving to begin his career in the insurance industry that is still ongoing after 46 years. Coach Martin remained active in coaching AAU basketball teams, most notably with the St Louis Gators, a program that won 10 consecutive AAU state championships and finished in the National Final 4 three times. Whitfield Head Coach Mike Potsou was a player on one of those teams. Coach Martin has coached many DI and professional players. His philosophy is work hard, play hard, and be the best player you can be.
