Whitfield's wrestling program is one of the school's most highly regarded and winningest athletic programs. Individual athletes, coaches, and teams have enjoyed huge success since the program's inception. Many Whitfield wrestlers have gone on to wrestle at the collegiate level and beyond. The varsity wrestling team won 2nd place in the Class 3 MSHSAA Boys State Championships.

Additional season highlights include:

  • Class 3, District 2 tournament championship (22nd district team title in 23 years.) The Warriors won seven of the 14 individual district championships and qualified 10 wrestlers for the MSHSAA wrestling championships. 
  • Thrasher Tournament championship - 1st place out of 42 teams.
  • 61st Annual Granite City Red Schmitt Holiday Tourney championship - 1st in program history.
