Liam Dean '19 to Compete for National Theater Award

Liam Dean '19 is just one of 80 rising stars selected from over 100,000 participants across the country as a nominee for The National High School Musical Theatre Awards™ (the Jimmy® Awards). The show will be livestreamed on Facebook from Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre in its entirety on June 25 at 6:30 CT (7:30pm ET).

Liam was named a 2018 Jimmy Award nominee after winning the Outstanding Actor award at the 2018 St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards (SLHSMTA). He was recognized for his portrayal of Seymour Krelborn in “Little Shop of Horrors.”

The National High School Musical Theatre Awards™ (the Jimmy® Awards) are a national celebration of outstanding student achievement, recognizing individual artistry in vocal, dance, and acting performance and elevating the importance of theatre arts education in schools. Nicknamed the the Jimmy Awards for theatre owner and producer James M. Nederlander, the awards recognize excellence in musical theatre by high school students across the country.

Liam and the other finalists will travel to New York City to spend 10 days in a professional training intensive with mentors from the Broadway industry in order to prepare for the June 25 Jimmy Awards ceremony.
