Dr. Adam Attwood Receives AAE Grant
Posted 04/09/2019 08:09AM

Whitfield Social Studies Department Chair Dr. Adam Attwood has been selected as a grant recipient in the Association of American Educators (AAE) spring 2019 National Teacher Scholarship & Classroom Grant competition.

Dr. Attwood will receive funding to purchase materials that will be used in his classroom as part of a differentiated, multidisciplinary social studies and art unit. Students will have the opportunity to express their creativity in designing their own cities (incorporating what they have learned about urbanization, suburbanization, zoning, city planning, and infrastructure), and creating board games about the Industrial Revolution.

The AAE is the largest national, non-union, professional educators' organization, advancing the profession by offering a modern approach to teacher representation and educational advocacy, as well as promoting professionalism, collaboration and excellence without a partisan agenda.
