Middle School Warrior of the Week: April 19, 2019
Posted 04/19/2019 11:22AM

The Middle School Warrior of the Week for April 19, 2019 is Ava Johnson '24. Ava truly takes to heart and exemplifies all of the Habits of Mind and Heart. Her commitment to scholarship is an amazing thing to watch. She consistently pushes herself to new levels because of her love of learning. Ava is a force of nature as a mature leader for the seventh grade. An expert in using empathy when reading a room, she shines when helping her peers understand concepts more deeply. She deftly navigates seminar and informal discussions, encouraging others to get involved and share their ideas. Ava's commitment to mindfulness is evident in everything she does; she is always aware of those around her and often goes out of her way to see if she can help anyone. Her positivity and willingness to throw her talents into any situation are impressive. She is never afraid to stand up for what she believes is right; she makes Whitfield a better place. Ava's recent role in the middle school play was an imaginary friend who was the glue that held the other imaginary friends together. This character mirrored what she does in real life within the seventh grade class.
