Varsity Competition Dance Team
The year is off to a great start for the Whitfield varsity dance team! During the fall season, the Warriors enjoyed entertaining at home soccer games and at the Homecoming Pep Assembly and Bonfire. As we head into the winter season, the dance team looks forward to performing at home basketball games, shows and competitions. The dancers are honored to represent Whitfield and have been working very hard to prepare their routines. The Warriors love to entertain, and they hope that you will be able to catch a performance!
The 2017-2018 dance season was a fun and successful one for the Whitfield varsity dance team! The Warriors performed their precision jazz routine for home soccer games throughout the fall season. They finished their fall season with one of their favorite traditions, dancing at the Homecoming Pep Assembly and Bonfire. During the winter season, the Warriors performed at home basketball games, shows and competitions.
Because of their hard work, the dance team earned many honors throughout the season. At the Yvonne Cole Lindbergh Invitational in December, the Warriors earned 2nd place in the Precision Jazz category, 2nd place in the Pom category, and 2nd place in the High Kick category. At the Saint Charles Classic in January, the Warriors were awarded 2nd place in Pom, 3rd place in High Kick, and 4th place in Mix, which is a category that incorporates pom, high kick and jazz dance technique.
The 2017-2018 dance season concluded with the Missouri Dance Team Championships, which were held at the Family Arena in St. Charles on February 24. The Warriors felt grateful for the privilege of competing with so many outstanding dance teams from throughout the State. The Whitfield dancers were very honored to receive 1st place in Mix, 4th place in Pom, and 3rd place overall in Class 1 in the state of Missouri.
