JV Head Coach: Matt Kingston | profile
Matt played high school basketball in Charlottesville, Virginia at St. Anne’s Belfield School where he was the starting point guard, team captain and led his team to a league championship his senior year. He returned to serve as a varsity assistant coach at St. Anne’s Belfield for two years.
Coach Kingston’s basketball philosophy is based around the ideals of hard work and togetherness. He emphasizes the importance of a team being greater than the sum of its parts. Coach Kingston attended the University of Virginia, and is an avid Cavaliers fan. He is excited to bring his passion and energy for the game to the well-respected basketball program at Whitfield School.
JV Assistant Coach: Brandon Hogan | profile
Coach Hogan is extremely excited to begin his fifth season at Whitfield. He has spent the past four years coaching at Brentwood High School where he was associate varsity head and head junior varsity coach. He helped lead the program in back-to-back conference championships for the first time in school history.
Brandon played basketball at Fredericktown High School located in Southeast Missouri. He was a three-year varsity starter, team captain, all-conference selection, and the Most Valuable Player, leading two teams to 19 win seasons.
Coach Hogan’s basketball philosophy revolves around three principles of development: help shape the lives of young people by instilling values and discipline, motivate each student athlete to reach their full academic potential and, to teach each player to be the most complete basketball player possible.
He is a graduate of Missouri State University where he earned a degree in Architecture and Design.
