Varsity Athlete of the Week

The Varsity Athlete of the Week for September 17, 2019 is Jacquelyn Winfield '22, a sophomore on the girls volleyball team. Jacquelyn's commitment to the sport of volleyball and her team began by her regular appearance at summer practices and workouts. From the start of this season, she has taken on new positional responsibilities by learning to set, which is not an easy feat. Jacquelyn is a leader in the offense, both as a middle hitter for three rotations and running the offense as a setter for three rotations. Not only is she a six-rotation player but her productivity is high as well. Last Wednesday in a competitive 3-set match vs. MRH, she posted over a 40% hitting percentage. Despite her early success, Jacquelyn continues to apply coaches' feedback in practice and game settings while consistently working to her max and pushing herself to get better every day.
